Volunteer EMT. IT by day. Husband, dad of four, and the person behind the One Call at a Time series.

I'm a volunteer EMT, so I might go weeks without a page, then be out every night for a stretch. Most nights I'm on a call, my wife Tiff is awake with the radio on, listening to the air. She can tell from the dispatch when one is going to be a doozy.
Over the years I noticed that responders carry stories nobody writes down, and so do the families who wait up. The run report has a box for everything except what the call meant. One Call at a Time gives those stories a place to live.
Tiff founded Born Force Training, where we teach CPR, First Aid, AED and workplace safety courses. Together we're raising Robbie, Bryce, Merrick and Mackenzie. They've given up dinners, holidays and sleep so a stranger could have their worst day made a little better.
Our son Bryce is a future paramedic, just getting started on his EMS career. The same week he graduated, we worked a call side by side. It's the reason the first book exists.

Born Force Training is named for Born Force, a retired, blind racehorse who beat long odds to become part of our family. He proved second chances are worth fighting for.
A portion of every book supports Bond's Path, Inc., funding grants that help communities put AEDs in place and get the CPR training to use them, so more people walk away from a cardiac arrest.
