Short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell anything about you, and we only email you about new books if you asked us to.

When you place an order. Your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, what you ordered, and any personalization you add for the inscription. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
When you sign up or write to us. If you join the newsletter or ask to be told when a book is out, your email address and the book you picked. If you use the contact form, your name, email address, the topic you picked, and your message. Every field on these forms is a field you filled in on purpose.
When you just read the site. Our web host keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time. These are routine security and troubleshooting records, not a profile of you.
What we never collect. We don't ask for health information, and nothing you write in a journal you bought is connected to this website in any way. A write-in book is paper, and it stays yours.
Order details are used to sign, inscribe, ship and support your order, and to keep the records the law requires for sales and taxes.
Contact form messages are used to answer you: a question, a correction, or a story you wanted to send. Nothing more.
We only email you about new books if you ticked the box or signed up yourself. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. We won't add you to a list because you placed an order or asked a question.
A handful of services make the site work, and each sees a narrow slice:
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't hand it to anyone else except where the law requires it.
The store uses functional cookies to remember your cart and keep checkout working. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set a functional cookie if you log in. If analytics are added later, this section will say so and name the tool.
Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Correspondence is kept as long as it's useful, typically no more than two years, then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs roll off on our host's normal schedule, usually within a few months.
Write to hello@onecallbooks.com and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. We'll do it within 30 days, except for order records we are required to keep. Depending on where you live you may have these rights by law; we'll honor the request either way rather than argue about which statute applies.
This site is meant for adults working in or buying gifts for emergency services and their families. We don't knowingly collect anything from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we'll delete it.
The site is served over HTTPS and kept updated. No website is perfectly secure, so please don't send anything through the contact form you'd be unwilling to send in an ordinary email, and never send patient information.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page rather than made quietly.
